AEROSMITH Fan Experience Tour Wraps Up With Appearances By STEVEN TYLER And JOEY KRAMER
June 8, 2005Following close on the heels of the successful conclusion of the first fan experience event for AEROSMITH's fan club, Aero Force One, under the new management of Paid, Inc. Celebrity Services, announces the AEROSMITH & Umixit "You Gotta Move" Remix Contest for fan club members with phenomenal prizes that include Sony PlayStation Portables, concert tickets and back stage passes. Aero Force One set the bar high for future events by exceeding long-time fans' wildest expectations with its "Behind the Aerosmith Door" fan tour of key AEROSMITH-related sites in the Boston area last week. An impromptu visit by Steven Tyler at Mount Blue restaurant sent tour participants swooning as he casually sat down at their tables to chat, pose for pictures and sign autographs for more than 30 minutes.
Amid rousing cheers, AEROSMITH's legendary Joey Kramer greeted eager fans on the final stop of the tour at the Zildjian Company headquarters, which manufactures the cymbals and drum sticks Joey uses. The die-hard fans were touched by Joey's sincerity as he thanked them for their support. "It's all about the fans. You've helped me though tough times and I've helped some fans through tough times. Without the fans, there is nothing," Joey stated. He then met with each fan to sign an autograph, answer questions, pose for photos and present them with a set of his drum sticks.
Participants rated Steven's unexpected Mt. Blue visit as the highlight of the tour and sat spellbound as Steven recounted how he overcame songwriter's block to finish the lyrics of "Janie's Got a Gun" at Long View Farms, which the group had visited earlier in the day, and then he proceeded to sing the song for them.
"That was truly the most wonderful night of my life!!!," gushed Charlene Wells, a long-time Aero Force One member, after the dinner at Mount Blue. "The only dream I've EVER HAD came true that night ... "
Keep your eye on the AF1 web site, www.aeroforceone.com, for a complete recap and photos of the tour.
For the first time ever, Aero Force One challenges fans to use their creativity and ingenuity to create their own unique remix of AEROSMITH's "You Gotta Move" using the Umixit technology that Steven Tyler and Intel CEO Craig Barrett demonstrated at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Umixit is a hot new technology that allows fans to share the studio experience with the band. Just slip in the Umixit-enabled CD, exclusively available with AEROSMITH's "You Gotta Move" DVD, and start mixin' for a chance to win some of the best prizes ever offered by a fan club.
Contest entry is easy for anyone with a personal computer. On a regular PC, fans just remix AEROSMITH's song "You Gotta Move" using an easy 8-channel, multi-track format (there is an option to upgrade to 16-track for a one time fee of $19.95) for use on all Umixit-enhanced CDs.
Umixit puts fans in control to create their own "perfect" remix. Not enough bass line? Crank it up. Don't like the keyboard? Get rid of it. Gotta have more vocals? Repeat the lines, repeat the beats — it's all in the fans' hands now. There are even open tracks where fans can record their own instruments, and add their own special effects and loops.
There will be five winners of the Aero Force One & Umixit "You Gotta Move" Remix Contest. The five best remixes, determined as most creative and most skillful remixes, will be judged by AEROSMITH's A&R pros! Of these five finalists, one will be named the Grand Prize winner and the remaining finalists will be the runners-up.
ALL five finalists will receive their very own PlayStation Portable (PSP)! In addition, the Grand Prize winner will receive four tickets with backstage passes to the city of choice on AEROSMITH's next tour, a day in the studio with AEROSMITH's studio staff and a full-sized movie poster from the premiere of "You Gotta Move" autographed by all the AEROSMITH band members.
Get started on your remix entry now! The deadline for entries is midnight ET on July 22, 2005.
